HONDA DISC BRAKE Conversion
There was once the slogan "You meet the nicest people on a Honda". They should have said "You run into the nicest people on a Honda!" Those with Hondas know the way you stop one, if it is over a year old, is you gear down, pick out someone who looks nice and hit his bike. Depending on where you are, you could pick out a young flexible tree and hit it, because you know the brakes will not work.
Xtreme designed a brake kit, one we thought offered, the easiest installation, longer component life and superior dependability over any other system available.
These are reasons why we think we have the best kit on the market:
Our rotors are 1/4 inch thick, they do not bend when you hit a root or rock. Others are 5/32.
Our rotors are solid they do not have cooling slots. Cooling slots pack up with mud this is wiped thru the brake pads wearing them down faster. On a solid rotor the pads act as a wiper cleaning off the mud. Others are slotted.
Our calipers are the automotive "full floating" type. This eliminates brake shimmy and shake if you happen to warp a rotor. Others are not.
Our kit does not require the use of a press or vise to install the lug studs. We designed the kit to use simple bolts to attach rotor and hub. Simple hand tools do the job. Others requires a press, get the adaptors misaligned and they are subject to break or bust the hub.
Our kit comes with hardware to re-route the brake hoses and keep them out of harms way. Others do not.
Our kit comes with new copper sealing washers for the brake hoses, we considered this critical. Others do not.
Our calipers come with "sintered bronze" brake pads the very best available. Others do not.
These are the things that we feel make our kit the "very best bang for the buck".
